Well that sucked

By: Melissa | April 3rd, 2008

Basically, the highlight of the night was when my friend (who doesn’t follow soccer) showed up to the bar, saw Landon Donovan and immediately announced he looked just like Tailor Made.

Also, the bartender says we can come back to the bar every Thursday and watch MLS games. Hooray!

At least your team still had 11 on the pitch after seven minutes.

    fitz said it best.

btw, I love James Rileys play. I know I keep harping on it, but the kid has moves, a great touch, confidence, and he can play D.

Your team has people that can service (riley, o’brien) but nothing up top. We are the opposite. Ce La Vie.

I wasn’t that discouraged - two bad bounces and miscues by a goalie and defense that are going to be solid for the entire season cost us the game - and what looked like a questionable offsides call changed the entire game. If Cochrane’s goal was allowed, we win that game because LA’s spirit is crushed and the crowd would have turned on them.

It did expose the fact that we have no experience striker up front. Hopefully, Doyle is working on that one fast.

Thats it Allison. Never listen to my advice EVER AGAIN.

The defense fell apart early which was totally unexpected and towards the end of it, everyone in the bar just started screaming for our forwards to shoot - shoot at anything - just shoot.

I’m just happy that I didn’t get slapped!

I think the Galaxy should give Alan Gordon to the Earthquakes, seriously that guy is trash! I want him off my team.

Melissa, I’ll still trade you Vanney and Vagenas for Cannon.

Even Cannon looked bad at times - I think I even started yelling for them to put Burpo in. *Sigh*

Melissa, I would hold my head up high. first professional game and you guys did OK. Your only problem is the obvious one…. no striker. To be honest, the quakes played better than the Galaxy. The quakes held control of the ball and controlled the pace for long periods of time. The Galaxy only scored against the run of play. The earthquakes looked more like a team. Good start, you guys just have to build on the team in the next couple of years.

I keep forgetting to add that Riley and Hernandez had great performances last night - too bad everyone around them sucked ass. I’m happy Red Bulls Dave is also on the Riley bandwagon. If we yell loud enough, maybe Bob Bradley will put down that hamburger and take note.
