Can they really call it a Pub Crawl?
By: Melissa | February 25th, 2008I’m still waiting rather impatiently for the supposed new player signing news. In the meantime, the official Quakes site announced there will be more Pub Crawl events this week and next.

Since a pub crawl is technically a evening’s crawl on foot from one bar to the next, I’m a little wary of the term being used here. Also, from my experience at the last “Pub Crawl,” the players are monitored pretty closely by PR so no buying whatshisface a drink or whatever. Bummer.
With that in mind, and as an East Bay girl, I think I already signed my Thursday away to a thrilling night of hacking Linux on an ARM motherboard with a bunch of socially retarded geeks. OMG, I wish the Quakes announced these f*cking dates just a leeetle bit sooner. Next time guys can you give a girl maybe a week’s warning?

and are they keeping the boys away from san francisco for a reason? did something bad happen the last time they were allowed out in the big city (besides us heckling the overflowing bench)?

Not really a crawl… more of a stumble.

I think in my younger days, I experienced some crawling - or rather - someone carried me. Either way, I still object to the term being used here. Then again, if any of the events listed above TURN INTO real pub crawls, I will be extremely angry if I miss out.
