Need a bar in the East Bay with Direct Kick
By: Melissa | April 9th, 2008
So now’s the time for a healthy dose of positive affirmations brought to you by the good folks at The Offsides. I’ve got a new dilemma so I’m asking the internets for help on this. Turns out a small group of San Jose and Chicago supporters want to watch some of the remaining MLS games on tv after Saturday’s match at the Coliseum. I’ve decided that it is completely ridiculous for them to have to go all the way over to the Kezar Pub in San Francisco to do this (i.e. the bar must have Direct Kick). I called The Englander (nope), I called The Pacific Coast Brewing Company (nope), I called McNallys (nope), I got distracted and found that funny affirmation j-peg to the upper left side of this post.
I know that, even if these guys don’t really care, I’ll feel defeated and utterly devastated if I go back to them without the info on a bar in the East Bay… preferably very close to Bart. Can anyone help a girl out? I’m this close to grabbing a phone book and calling every single entry until I luck out or pass out (whichever comes first).
I stand corrected. I need a bar with Direc Tv. Nope, I’m wrong again.

Here’s a lead from FSC’s website. Ricky’s Sports Theatre and Grill in San Leandro. Walking distance from the Bay Fair Bart station.

Doesn’t mention anything about direct kick, but with all the soccer they show they just might have it.

Nice. I’ll call them. I feel like my approach was incorrect at the previous bars mentioned. I think instead of asking them if they have Direct Kick, I need to find out what DirecTv packages include Direct Kick then ask them about that. Crossing my fingers one of those will have the package without even realizing it.
