Who doesn’t have a crush on Joe Cannon?

I urge you to immediately stop whatever you are doing and check out Cannon’s latest blog on the official Quakes website. Its HIGH-larious. Gone is the sad sentimentalism of his first entry. Instead, our Joe is thoughtful yet excited and even a tad silly.

And I’m excited. Are you excited? Well if you are not, then get excited because we’ve got an action packed schedule in place for Saturday and goddamnit we are sticking to the f*cking schedule…

12:00pm: The 1906/Ultras are meeting in the park on the Western side of Kezar Stadium where Lincoln and Kezar way intersect, or rather, where the the “Pre-Game Location” pointy arrow thingy is on this map. They need tons of help making flags and banners for the game so please come early and lend a hand!

4:00pm: People are meeting up at Kezar Pub (i.e. the “Kezar Pub” pointy arrow thingy on the same map) for pre-game drinks and possibly to watch a replay of the morning’s ManYoooou/Arsenal game. This is technically the tailgate for this event so please come, hang out, meet up with fans old and new. You know the drill.

(and doktordan on bigsoccer was bored – err – kind enough to map out the best public transportation routes to the Stadium)

7:00pm: Game! So I’ve been reading a few complaints on bigsoccer regarding the supporters groups at the PAL game – whether they were too loud or not loud enough or not inventive enough or not pretty enough (ok, I made that last one up, I’m sure they were very fetching) – I can most definitely tell you from my own past experiences as well as from my general impression of the “new” supporters group, its gonna be loud, its gonna be snarky, there’s gonna be profanity, and a certain blogger for The Offside may exclaim various members of the team should marry her. All I gotta say is, if you’re not a fan of the aforementioned behavior, I recommend you sit far far away from section “Oi.” You have officially been warned so no more complaining about it on bigsoccer. M’kay?

9:30pm: The official Quakes Pub Crawl that probably isn’t technically a real pub crawl begins at Kezar Pub. Yeah, thats right, it’s back to the bar we started at. But this time, a few players and staff members will maybe probably be there as well. So if anyone from our new team shows up who manages to score, he should expect to be handed many beers. Also, if our Joe shows up, he’ll probably be handed many beers as well just because everybody has a crush on him.

And I think that’s about it. I’m out for the rest of the day. I’ll leave you with a few more items of note. Firstofall, here’s the coolest thing I’ve gotten for Valentines Day in a long-ass time.
