Happy Pi day
By: Melissa | March 14th, 2008Honestly, there isn’t enough news to justify a post today but its Pi day (3.14 y’all!) and I’m a geek so that’s my excuse. Here’s today’s update:
* The Quakes officially hired former New Zealand international, Jason Batty, as their goalkeeper coach.
* Former Chivas USA and Victory player Mike Munoz has an update on his trial with the Quakes over at his blog. He says he gets the results next week. Good luck Mike! (and thanks to HENRY for the link)
* If you haven’t yet bought tickets to the Oakland Coliseum game against the Fire, there’s a special deal going on to save $10 if you type in the coupon code “sjfriends” when buying through tickets.com.
In other news, Luiz Muzzi may be the smartest man alive. Homeboy was ready and waiting for those Cubans to defect and it looks like Miami FC is going to seriously benefit from his forward thinking. And I’m crossing my fingers we sent our man Dayak out to Florida for a little pre-defection scouting. Out of seven players, I think at least one of them has to be a forward. And to the rest of Our Gang, all is not lost. If you can’t bribe them to the Bay with dvds and video games, tell the Cubans that the freeway chase scene in the second Matrix was filmed in Alameda.
And I’m out. Got to head into work then to happy hour with a bunch of PC World employees (and DC United fans - pfffft). I’ll leave you NOT with a song, but instead with Rob Riggle on the Daily Show brilliantly demonstrating why the city of Berkely is a blight upon humanity. But either wordpress or Comedy Central isn’t allowing me to embed the video so you should click here to bring the lolz. Lates.
