Benny come home

I read a very depressing blurb on today’s DuNord and my heart sank.

Benny Feilhaber - Derby County - did not dress, and his team lost 4-1 at Manchester United. The coaching change does not appear to have made any difference on the field, and Benny is not even getting to play any more.

I love Benny and not just because he’s the inspiration behind those Sacha & Benny Song of the Week spots on the US Soccer podcasts. He’s also a wicked footballer. I still get chills when I think about that cracker he scored to win us the Gold Cup this summer. Homeboy is still young and homeboy needs some playing time. Dude, come home and have The Frank take you under his wings for a bit. Europe is not going anywhere. Remember where you were when you scored your first goal as a Nat? Yup, you were in San Jose. I’m just saying.

Oh, and I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. In honor of those Sacha & Benny podcasts (and I was crossing my fingers for new ones during the last Nats training camp – le sigh), I’m posting my current Song of the Week which is quickly turning into my Song of the Year.
