Good news for me AND good news for the Quakes
By: Melissa | April 16th, 2008
If you’ve been living under a rock, then you don’t know we just acquired Jean-Philippe Peguero on loan from the Danish club Brondby. All I gotta say about this news is: Doyle does not f*ck around y’all! This dude is a goal scoring machine! Lessie… 14 goals off 46 appearances at Colorado, 6 goals off 12 appearances at New York, and 2 goals off 3 appearances at Brondby. This guy could probably get hit by a bus and he’d still figure out a way to limp up the pitch and knock one in. Yeah, he’s coming off a pretty bad injury (not from a bus) but apparently he’s been playing regularly in his soon-to-be-ex club’s reserves squad so that’s a good sign for the rest of us. Some youtube clips of our man in action are here. The picture to the left was taken from his myspace profile and it looks pretty obvious our Jean-Philippe is ready to bring some style and finesse to this squad both on and off the field.
And my good news is, I’m off to Coachella next week! I just got confirmation I’m officially on the crew for a techie/art project I’ve been involved with and we’re taking the little buggers down to the festival. Anyone going?
Also, the Quakes announced the official viewing party for Saturday’s Colorado game is at O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub. The event starts at 5:30pm with giveaways and drink specials. (How about jello shots for everybody if we score a goal?) I think a very unofficial viewing party in San Francisco is at Danny Coyles.

Do you know if Danny Coyle’s has Direct Kick? I gotta watch the Galaxy game that follows the Earthquakes game. Luckily, Houston has been horrible, so maybe we (L.A.) have a shot at getting at least 1 point.

I believe it does! Maybe both our teams will get at least a point on Saturday. *Sigh*

Offering jello shots if San Jose scores? What next, offering to give everyone money if it snows?

Hello! Coming over to a SJ game (03 May v. Dallas). I am hoping to buy tickets soonish but I’m wondering where the best seats are (i.e. is there an area where hxc fans sit?)

Probably with the sjultras? Check here: http://www.sjultras.com and introduce yourself on their messageboard. One or a few of the guys there are in a punk band that plays locally from time to time. I bet they will hook you up.
Hmmmm… except for the part where their site appears to be down at the moment? Give them an hour or two then try.

Melissa: I seemed to have dropped my gauntlet over on the Rapids Offside. Do stop by.

“Shut Up, Little Man!” is the title of a number of audio-verité recordings of two violent alcoholics, Raymond Huffman and Peter Haskett. The recordings were made by “Eddie Lee Sausage” and “Mitchell D.”, who lived in a bright pink apartment building—dubbed the “Pepto Bismol Palace”—in San Francisco’s Lower Haight district.
Yep, I read Wikipedia. Do I still get a million points?Posted from

Of course, but only if San Jose gets at least one this weekend.

Apparently he showed up in San Jose yesterday. Someone posted their Myspace conversation with him on Bigsoccer and he wrote that. Now no-one is allowed to badmouth Myspace or Facebook ever again.
I say if he does play on Sunday its as a sub.
