Hmm, thanks for the extra insight. Certainly adds to what many believe, that we now have two quality players who play at the same position (Huckerby and Convey) so on that level Convey isn't the best choice. Then again, Doyle and Yallop probably felt that to pass up the opportunity to add a 25-year old with the skills of Convey and experience in the English game would be a mistake, regardless of his position. At worst, maybe he can fill in at left back, where we need an upgrade for Denton.

I have been watching Convey for years, first as a DC United player and then for Reading. You are getting the best left winger in the league. He delivers quality service, his feet fly and he is very good on set pieces. Right now, he needs to get his confidence back. He has been a little lost in front of the goal and wary of the knee issues. here is to hoping that the shorter season, the warmer weather and the slower game in MLS will all play in to Convey being a star for the quakes and the MNT again. I have seen Reading try him in center midfield and it wasn't pretty. He is blind in one eye and for 4 years, has been trained by one of the best wingers in English football (steve coppell) how to attack from the wing. I think he will struggle in the middle of the field - even with the slower MLS game.
