We beat Portland, now we’re off to crush the Galaxy
By: Melissa | March 29th, 2008Goals from Kei Kamara and Shea Salinas put the final score at 2-1. A match report from OurSports Central is here. A very detailed match report of the reserves game against the Pilots is here. Good ‘ol Roblar at bigsoccer has already updated that fantastic roster list with the new info which leaves the rest of us wondering what happened to Adam Smarte?
Jamil Roberts is part of Roblar’s list but not as an official Dev signing. Dave G pointed out the link from 3rd Degree that confirms we traded a supplemental draft pick for him from FC Dallas. So I guess I’m not clear why we made a trade yet he’s not a signing? Is this just a player’s rights trade?
And one last bit before I go walk the dog and get ready for a bazillion hours of MLS at the bar. Hey everybody – we’ve got John Cunliffe! This is sooo cool. Now its official: Chivas rules San Jose. And as a Chivas fan, I gotta say, flashes of brilliance from that guy. Also, he’s very cool under pressure. Cunliffe definitely came out and performed for the goats last year when things weren’t looking too hot (I seem to recall an away game in sh*tty ass weather, an injured Ante, and Cunliffe walking away with at least one goal – maybe two – off that situation. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I’m pretty sure thats what happened). Anyhoo, welcome John Cunliffe!
This is a trade for Chris Pozniak who I know will be able to immediately contribute to his new club as soon as that groin strain clears up. So to Poz, make sure you rest that ass cause the goats need you asap.
EDIT: Oh snap – Timbers Bob already has his game report up. Go read it. He has much praise for our boy Shea.
