Quakes Thrashed 3-0

That image pretty much sums up the Quakes’ night. Lots of flailing around with nothing to show for it except being soaked. New York outplayed the Quakes in every positive aspect of the game. Their passing, possession, shooting and marking were all better. Forfeiting the match would have been a better outcome because then we wouldn’t have to have watched the team’s poor play. New York effectively shut down all of the Quakes’ attacking options tonight. Dawkins and Convey were invisible, Johnson couldn’t pass his way out of a paper bag, and Wondo only had 2 shots, both directly at the keeper. All three goals were an exercise in frustration as the defense was not paying attention and lead to each Red Bull chance to score.

Here’s the recap of the game.

I think the New York commentators say everything that needs to be said. The team better get their act together because anything short of a win against Chivas USA next week and the players and management will seriously need their heads examined.
