Mark your calendars: Draft Party, January 18th

I’m starting to wonder if the return of Major League Soccer to San Jose is really an excuse to encourage us all to start drinking before noon. Well, I can’t really complain. On Friday, January 18th, starting around 11am, the Quakes are hosting a SuperDraft party in Los Gatos at Double D’s Sport Grill (354 N Santa Cruz Ave). Word is, the restaurant is going to put an Earthquake burger on the menu and I’m very curious to find out what burger accoutrements associate with the team (I hope one of them is bacon).

Unless an act of God fixes my cracked headgasket before next Friday, there is no way I’m making it to the party so I’ll be maniacally checking bigsoccer and SSV for any updates that afternoon. And according to Ridge Mahoney, Joe Cannon spent yesterday playing golf with his dad which leads me to wonder if he’s already moved back to the South Bay. So maybe there’s a possibility Joe will be in attendance along with the rest of Our Gang.
