Quakes in LA this week. To everyone else, GO VOTE
By: Melissa | February 5th, 2008The Quakes are in Carson at the Home Depot Center this week for training. Here’s a picture taken yesterday of their work-in-progress practice field in Santa Clara.

Here’s the info to figure out where your polling place is today. Go vote y’all.
And after you are done voting, please hop on over to bigsoccer and join in on the thrilling discussion about future nicknames for Buck Shaw Stadium. My current favorite is “Shawesome.” I think I’ll be adopting that one permanently from now on.
SF over at theoffsiderules got wind of Nick Garcia’s farewell party in Kansas City and asked for a photo. Well, he got one and immediately asked readers if the photo proved Garcia and his friends were “ballin’ outta control.” The verdict from the blogosphere was a clear “no.” Sorry Nick.
I think for the upcoming Houston friendlies at PAL and Kezar, tickets are only available at the gate on the day of (to season ticket holders: your ticket rep has more details). So to everyone chomping at the bit to see the game in San Francisco, here is another reason why you should arrive early and help the 1906/Ultras get ready because they’ll count heads and send someone over to pick up a whole bunch of tickets. See? No muss no fuss and no waiting in line for you.
It totally dawned on me a few days ago, I can finally make a “You can’t get hyphy in Houston” sign for the San Francisco game and that makes me crazy excited. Yeah, if you haven’t figured it out already, I am easily amused.
Also, MLS releases the full 2008 schedule on Thursday.
