Shout out to the Ultras

Yeah, I dunno. I was so bummed out on Friday I completely forgot about the positives such as the folks who traveled down to the HDC to support the team. I’m also a little bit inspired by Chicago Sean’s recent post so I’m bogarting his idea to rep the SJUltras for their efforts to bring some atmosphere to a game that really looked like it was completely lacking. Too bad ESPN2 barely showed you guys.
Anyhoo – should be good times in Oakland on Saturday and, uh, hrrrmm… bit of a testosterone heavy group you got there. Is it ok if a girl stops by and says hello?

As one of those testosterone/alcohol fueled ultras…we would welcome anybody male or female come stop by to say hello, see what we’re about…and maybe stay awhile

Regarding the ladies: That’s a good question. Hopefully, any ultras of the feminine variety will be making a better showing at the upcoming home game.
Speaking of females, the worst part of the game on Thursday was the 20,000 little girls screaming their lungs out like they were at a Hannah Montana concert everytime Beckham and Donovan (the walking Propecia ad, himself) touched the ball. I’m still haunted in my dreams by that sound.

You know, I actually attended a Hannah Montana concert in San Jose. Completely ridiculous circumstances but I was there.
