Anti-DC Propaganda

By: Sean | June 19th, 2008

Why isn’t this talked about more? I’m not trying to be that offensive, and I am not calling DC, or their fans, or anything about them fascist. But when they were coming up with ideas for names/colors/logos/etc., was this not brought up? Alan I. Rothenberg, the namesake of the trophy given to each year’s MLS Cup, is Jewish. I’m not saying he wouldn’t be okay with it, but you would think that it would put up a red flag or two. Or three. Again, I have no problems with any of it at all, just surprised that there hasn’t been any uproar about it.

Especially after this.

Dig up what the original logo was (in 1996) and update your post. You’ll see that the team/league tried to tone it down.

Ok, let’s move on to more important matters. Like why hasn’t the Billboard Liberation Front defaced that effing huge poster of Becks and his junk in downtown San Francisco yet?

Is this the game for DC right after the 4-1 pounding of NY? Ruh Row. All I ask is the Quakes don’t let them walk away with an inflated sense of security. And no more hat tricks (unless it’s from our side)!

Jon - I am kidding you. Seriously. If you read the post, I stated numerous times that I was not trying to be inflammatory.

Oscar - I don’t see much different between the old logo and the current one.

That is just a coincidence right? Could this really have Nazi overtones?

Julien - I have no idea, one way or the other. The only reason I brought it up is because I was surprised there has not been more talk about it, coincidence or not.

julien- yeah, there are many nazi overtones. the entire brava, you think their putting their arms up to cheer, nope. seig heil. that’s what we’re all about up here. it could have nothing to with the fact that this is DC, and the national bird is the eagle, and our mascot is an eagle, and the crest looks cool. nope. nothing to do with that.

if you’re not trying to be inflammatory, why make the title Anti DC propaganda?

it’s alright, we’ll put up a 4 spot on you guys tomorrow, fascist or not.

Well I understand the bald eagle in the logo (national animal and D.C. is the capital), but where did they get the red and black from?

For ****’s sake, it’s just a color scheme. The original, unused logo was very… Prussian… and it was buried for that reason.

Maybe Kevin Payne is just a real big fan of the White Stripes, ever think of that? God this is stupid, I can’t believe I’m even responding to this.

How come nobody ever speculates about some sort of conspiracy involving D.C. United and Pontiac Trans-Ams anyway?

Goose - You asked why nobody “ever” speculates about DC United and Pontiac Trans-AM. That insinuates that the DC/Nazi conspiracy has been talked about before.

My original point was that it never gets talked about, whether or not it is ridiculous. Do you have any links or anything to people talking about it?

    Thanks,
    Sean

Now that you brought it up, I also realized that the German FA logo has an eagle on it. Perhaps Nazi’s have infiltrated that organization.
